Soh Daiko Recital

  • New York Buddist Church 332 Riverside Drive New York, NY, 10025 United States (map)

Soh Daiko has been drumming underground since 1979 - and right above us is the New York Buddhist Church, serving the New York community since 1938! We are lucky to be a part of this community as the church not only supports our grou, but also provides us with one of New York City's rarest commodities: a space to store and play our taiko!

To celebrate our ongoing connection with this community, Soh Daiko is pleased to put on a recital in the Hondo for the public, with suggested donations to directly benefit the New York Buddhist Church. This is a chance to see us perform before our spring performance season, see the progress of our trainees, and showcase the NYBC children's taiko class, taught by Soh Daiko alumnus and legend, Teddy Yoshikami. This concert is the second of what we hope to be an annual showcase of works in our home for our closest fans.

This recital also will start a crowd funded effort to raise funds for renovations done in the church. In a long standing plan to improve the building, the bathrooms of basement dojo where we practice are being redone.

Please come enjoy our show and the New York Buddhist Church, and help support the organization and building that has supported us all these years! The performance starts at 2PM - seating is limited and will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Sincerely,

Soh Daiko Members
